So long, Virginia

Well... Pinkfire and I are currently at Bear's Den Hostel - about 19 miles south of Harper's Ferry, WV. We are planning to get in there sometime tomorrow afternoon, when his parents will meet us and be shocked at how thin he is and insist on feeding us.. :) which is a great thing to look forward to. They have even talked about getting a hotel for the evening (saturday) that would include a SHOWER and a BED. amazing stuff. Sorry the journal entries and pictures have been delayed - I decided to avoid my last mail drop, and instead use the many waysides (camp stores) in the Shenandoahs to keep myself fed. I have been writing things down though, so when I get home on the 22nd, I will work feverishly to get them up, along with some wicked cool pictures that ya'll are gonna love. I'll also go through and add comments to the pictures that are already up - so even though you may see that the trip is over, it doesn't mean that the website is completely useless yet... I'll still be doing some work on it and adding to it. So as I said, I'll be done on Tuesday - the 22nd - about 3 miles into Pennsylvania. That's where we started our 50 mile family vacation in 2004, so I'll have actually completely 1/2 of the trail by the end of this summer.
But enough of that - life is still good out here, but the end is in sight. It's hard not to think and talk about all the food that we want to eat, and the people we want to see and the things we want to do in the next few weeks. Jessica got me a job working stage crew at the fair, but I won't be home in time, so we'll see how that plays out. Loz is already at LHU for RA training... Mallory might be home from camp by now, and the rest of my Meadvillian friends, I haven't heard from in ages. My roommate who spent the summer in Alaska has left me more voice mail messages than anyone this summer.. thanks Jess'ca! :)
I'm looking forward to meeting Pinkfire's parents, and I'm looking forward to finishing up my summer in PA. Hope yinz are all happy with what you're doing.
So long SWEET SUMMER... so long.

So I totally can't wait to see you...cause I basically haven't seen you all summer. I'm really glad you didn't get eaten by a bear. Give me a call when you get home! I'm not sure about working the fair but I'll ask tomorrow if they want help. You could be there for 2 of the big shows (Brooks & Dunn and Steve Miller) so I'll see whats up and let you know!

See you sooooon :)

Jenga,

How wonderful it was to meet you and spend time in Harper's Ferry area. Be proud of what you accomplished. Pinkfire is slowly returning to civilization. He said he can't believe how sensitive he is to noise. I think he is in love with the fridge - spends a lot of time there. Take care. Call us when you are back home. Best wishes! Fondly, Pinkfire's Ma and Pa
